Maestro Ron Carter brings his trio featuring Donald Vega on piano and Russell Malone on guitar to the Hochstein Performance Hall on Friday, August 9.  Carter is the most recorded bassist in jazz history, having contributed to legendary jazz recordings by Miles Davis, Wes Montgomery, Herbie Hancock, Stan Getz, Wayne Shorter and many more while also recording over 40 albums as a band leader (or co-leader.) He is the bass player on the culturally resonant, and universally referenced “The Revolution Will Not Be Televised” by Gill Scott-Heron. A graduate of the Eastman School of Music, Carter is one of the many great musicians that enriched Rochester, NY’s local music history by playing at the now mythical Pythodd Room on Clarissa Street. Carter was elected to the Rochester Music Hall of Fame in 2015 and the DownBeat Jazz Hall of Fame in 2012. Join us to celebrate the art of jazz through the music of the Ron Carter Trio at the Hochstein Performance Hall on Friday, August 9 at 8:00 PM.
